Vanishing of the vacuum energy for superstrings
A hypothesis regarding the structure of the equations for the vacuum diagrams in a first-quantized theory of superstrings is proposed. The analytic measure in the integral over modulus space is proportional to the sum []4 (ee — ±1) over spin structures on Riemann surfaces and vanishes by virtue of the Riemann identities for θ constants.
